A very special “Thank You” to Subaru of Garnd Blanc for choosing The Salvation Army serving Genesee County as the recipient of the 2024 Operation Warm Campaign. The 108 warm winter coats will ensure our most vulnerable children will be kept warm and healthy during the cold winter months this year. This past winter through our “Christmastown” holiday assistance program we distributed 1,355 new winter coats. We are thrilled to have you part of this amazing program this year! Thank you to Subaru Sales Manager Mark Dougherty and Sales Associate Gregg Pratt for delivering the coats along with Susan Garontakos, Community Relations at Al Serra Auto Plaza. Blessings of Peace and Health from Major Randy Hellstrom and Staff.

Restoring Hope! - Victoria O.

Thank you to the incredible staff at Al Serra Subaru who went above and beyond to help make a family's Christmas one to remember. I had the honor of delivering gifts purchased by Al Serra to a family in need. I was the social worker servicing the family of five. The mother was in the process of moving into a new home before Christmas and had to choose from a new home or Christmas gifts for her children. She had no idea Subaru of Grand Blanc would be helping her in one of the most special ways. When I dropped the gifts off at the home, the client and her children were in tears! Thank you to everyone at Al Serra for restoring hope, bringing so much light and being a blessing to someone else during the holiday season!

Subaru Loves Dogs - Haley K.

We are grateful for the generosity of Subaru of Grand Blanc, Michigan. We have built a fantastic partnership over the years to help save more Michigan dogs. It takes a village and thanks to the adoption event held at the dealership our adoptable dogs got extra loving and lots of exposure to help them find their forever homes. On top of hosting the adoption event we were sent home with a van full of donations to help our dogs have special treats, toys and more to make their time with us more enjoyable. We cannot thank this wonderful team enough for their continued generosity through the years.

Socks for the Homeless - Cindy J.

Subaru of Grand Blank donated eight cases of socks to be given to those experiencing homelessness! Socks seem like a small thing, but in Michigan, socks are a necessity. These socks keep a child's feet warm so he can concentrate at school. They keep a mom's feet warm as she takes the bus to work. The keep a veteran's feet warm as he navigates his way from homelessness to a self-sufficient situation. A donation of socks show you care. Thank you!

This year, Subaru of Grand Blanc joined our mission to shine light and give hope when it is needed the most! With their support, we are able to continue helping families like the Roszells. In May 2021, 23-year-old Robert was diagnosed with ALS, after a two-year battle finding answers to his rapidly declining health. Robert, Kasey and their six-month old son were facing the darkest time in their life. " We were given a grant that changed the whole trajectory of our year". Thank you to the team at Subaru Grand Blanc; what you do matters and we at Fund a Life are grateful for you!

Adopted for the holidays - Sabrina O.

The amazing staff at Subaru adopted a few of our families at Orchards Children's Services for the holidays. The families that they assisted this year are currently working very hard to have their children returned home to them and sometimes this has caused some financial strain especially during the holidays. Of the generous 5 families they adopted, one of the families really stands out to me as the family has done nothing but rave about the items they have received. The family consists of a single father and his two small children. The father in this family was very reluctant to request any items for himself as he was very focused on ensuring his children had a festive and happy holiday. This father has been working very hard to ensure he is financially stable to provide for the needs of his kiddos. Fortunately, we recently learned that he received a promotion at work and he was able to identify that he was in need of clothing as he works in roofing outdoors. The Subaru team really came through for him with some of his clothing needs and each visit we have with him, he is showing off the items he received and adamantly expressing how grateful he is to have the items and the generosity of those who adopted his family. This father is working hard to continue to increase his bond with his children and over the past few months, there has been a significant increase in the family engagement and positive relationship. It has been reported that the children have become so close with their father that they often do not want their visits to end. When the children received their gifts, their faces just lit up and they were super excited for what they received and bring the toys they received to the visits to engage with their father. This family is forever grateful for the kindness and have reported that the clothing, toys and items they received have been very helpful and allow them to focus on spending time together continuing to be closer as a family.

Serra Subaru Shares the Love with Michigan Youth - Jacob H - Jacob H.

Serra Subaru of Grand Blanc has once again supported the children and families at Orchards Children's Services. Year after year, Serra Subaru has continued to “Share the Love” and make a huge difference in the lives of the children and families that we serve. This year Subaru of Grand Blanc ensured more children in our care are able to have the opportunity to further their education past high school by supporting our Promise Scholarship. Thanks to Serra Subaru we are able to send more of our youth to college or a trade school of their choice to study what fascinates them! Thanks to Serra Subaru “Sharing the Love” and opening the door of opportunity to those in our care.

Serra Subaru "Shares the Love" w/ children in need - Rhonda P.

Serra Subaru of Grand Blanc has once again supported the children and families in our care during the holidays. Year after year, Serra has continued to “Share the Love” by ensuring the children in our care enjoy the holiday season even during a global pandemic. While it has been tough for us all, it has been even tougher to ensure our families maintain the support they need. Thanks to Serra Subaru “Sharing the Love” and adopting children for the holidays, they have bought joy to those in need. While we wish we could have done this in person, we are graciously looking forward to the day we can get together in person with Serra to safely to serve the children and families. We wish everyone a successful and healthy new year.

Subaru Blankets given at 2021 Winter Warm Up event - Cindy J.

The second annual Winter Warm Up event was held at Carriage Town Ministries on November 13th for those in our community who are experiencing homelessness or challenges this winter. During the event we distributed warm winter items, including blankets. The Subaru blankets were given out, bringing the total number of blanket given out to 783! Thank you for your timely delivery of blankets! On a humorous note, the last case of blankets was grabbed because there was still a line and it contained socks! We all had a good laugh and gave out the socks, which everyone loved! (I do believe Nathan told me they were socks, but I had forgotten.) Thank you Subaru of Grand Blanc for your generosity. We are working together to keep Flint warm this winter!

So easy to Purchase - Keith F.

Dealer made this purchase so easy. Bought a lot of cars in my life, but this was by far the best experience. I drive a 2021 Outback and my wife drives a 2019 Outback. We will remain with this product and dealer in future. Thank you Al Serra !

Collaboration Saves Lives (even in a pandemic) - Haley K.

We all know that 2020 has been a chaotic year to say the least. We are grateful for the generosity shown by Al Serra Subaru of Grand Blanc over the years but their ability to still give back through a global pandemic makes them stand out to us. Our teams put their heads together to figure out how we could safely collaborate again to bring in much needed supplies to the dogs that we rescue. It came down to that we just could not swing an event and keep everyone safe. Al Serra Subaru of Grand Blanc sent us a generous donation and we all agreed that next year we will work to have an event when the world is in a safer place. We cannot thank them enough for this gesture as we have not had a shortage of dogs to save, even through the pandemic. From all the dogs and volunteers at Canine Companions Rescue Center thank you so much Al Serra Subaru of Grand Blanc! We cannot wait to collaborate next year.

Subaru Shares the Love during the Holidays - Rhonda P.

Serra Subaru of Grand Blanc "Shares the Love" again this holiday for the children and families of Orchards Children's services. Serra Subaru has stepped up during a national pandemic to ensure the most vulnerable children in our care have a happy holiday season. While the last 9 months have been tough for many, it has been exceptionally hard for the children and families we serve and Serra Subaru made sure that our children did not go without during the holiday. Serra went above and beyond to ensure our kids Christmas shined bright. We missed the traditional in person event at the dealership but the children did not miss out on the love from Serra Subaru. We hope to see Santa and the rest of the Serra crew’s smiling faces next year. Here’s wishing them and their families a safe, healthy and prosperous new year.

Blankets for those experiencing homelessness - Cindy J.

Michigan winters are cold. Michigan autumns are cold. Sometimes even summer nights are cool! Due to fears of COVID, some individuals experiencing homelessness chose to not seek housing in shelters. To assist them, we distributed the Subaru blankets. The waterproof lining would create a moisture barrier and the comfortable fleece a nice place to rest. We added another blanket for the individual to wrap up in. Thank you so much for helping to keep Flint warm this winter! We are so appreciative of your concern for those in desperate situations! Subaru adopts Families for the Hoiday's - Rhonda P.

Subaru of Grand Blanc has been exceptional to Orchards Children’s services through the years. Subaru has supported our children and families in many ways which has helped tremendously. The families impacted by Subaru have said that because of the support from Subaru, their lives have changed for the better. That they have helped them make memories that would last a lifetime.During the Share the Love event they hosted at the dealership, they provided our families with a meal, entertainment and of course Santa who came with plenty of gifts. The children were so excited that they got to spend time with Santa. Many of the children couldn’t stop talking to him. They opened their gifts with Santa and the staff of Subaru and many even played with some of their toys with them. Without the support of Subaru (Grand Blanc) many of our children and families would go without. This year they have made many families happy by adopting them for the holidays. Subaru has made sure that children and their families did not have to go without this holiday season. They have provided families with a sense of hope and made many children happy. They have welcomed our children and families not only into their dealership but into their hearts as well.

saved but the salesman - Cooper W.

We took delivery of our new outback but forgot almost everything Cooper told us, so when we got in the vehicle the next day the battery was dead. We contacted Cooper he was Johnny on the spot with a battery box to get us back on the road, we left the lights on & it wasn’t in auto. Cooper then had Gregg come out after about 2 to 3 weeks and go over anything we couldn’t figure out. The visit was very helpful and we are on the road enjoying our new vehicle.
